10th Anniversary of Re-establishment of Shri Ahichhatra tirth

Special Cover on 10th Anniversary of Re-establishment of Shri Ahichhatra tirth released on 23rd April 2015.

Ahichhatra was the ancient capital of Northern Panchala, a northern Indian kingdom mentioned in Mahabharata. The remains of this city have been discovered near Ramnagar village in Aonla tehsil of Bareilly district in Uttar Pradesh.

Shri Ahichhatra Parshvanath Atishaya Kshetra Digamber Jain Mandir is a center of religious consciousness and it is present in peaceful area surrounded by natural beauty. About 2800 years ago Bhagwan Parshvanath attained ‘Keval Gyan’ here through deep ‘Tapashcharan’.

On the occasion of grand celebration of 10th anniversary of re-establishment of Shri Ahichhatra Tirth, a special cover was released by U. P. Postal Circle on 23rd April 2015 at Ramnagar Kila (U.P.), (Special Cover approval no. UP/12/2015).
